ROBERT LAMBERTS is an associate professor, who works at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) as the head of orthopaedic research. In addition, he holds an honorary position at the Exercise Science and Sport Medicine unit at the University of Cape Town. He has conducted an extensive amount of cycling research, with a specific interest in predicting, monitoring and fine-tuning training prescription. In addition, he has a research interest in thermo-regulation, pacing and biomechanics. He has published over 30 international peer reviewed articles, has supervised over 15 students, is a Fellow of the European College of Sport Science (FECSS) and the founder of the LSCT (a submaximal cycle test to monitor and predict cycling performance). In addition to his research work, he is active as a coach and exercise physiology consultant through which he has work with world-class road, MTB and cyclo-cross cyclists.
